Seth Panyako has vowed to swear himself in as the “people’s Member of Parliament” for Malava the moment he returns to the constituency.
Speaking during a local podcast on Thursday, December 4, 2025, Panyako appeared frustrated and emotional as he discussed the outcomes of the recent by-election.
He maintained that he cannot concede defeat because, in his view, he won the seat but the victory was given to someone else.
Panyako said he is preparing to return to Malava for what he described as a grand homecoming ceremony.
During this event, he plans to invite a lawyer who will administer an oath declaring him the rightful representative of the people.
He promised supporters that he would not allow what he called an “injustice” to go unanswered.
According to Panyako, the election did not reflect the will of the people. He claimed that the voters of Malava chose him, but forces beyond his control interfered with the final tally.
He said that acknowledging the official results would be betraying the trust of the community that stood with him throughout the campaign.
In the podcast, Panyako spoke passionately about his political journey and the spirit that guides him.
He said he feels greatly inspired by the late ODM leader, whose courage and resistance in difficult political times he deeply admires.
At one point, he even described himself as the reincarnation of Raila Odinga, saying that the same fire and determination now lives in him.
Panyako added that his planned oath-taking is symbolic of the fight for justice and the refusal to accept what he believes is electoral manipulation.
He urged his supporters to remain firm and assured them that he will continue championing their interests, whether officially recognized or not.
