Liverpool finally returned to winning ways in Europe after a crushing 5–1 victory away to Eintracht Frankfurt. The win brought relief to manager Jürgen Klopp as pressure had started building following a rare run of defeats by the Premier League champions.

For the first 30 minutes, Frankfurt looked brighter and more confident. Their effort was rewarded when Rasmus Kristensen fired a clean strike into the net, raising doubts among Liverpool supporters who feared another difficult night.

However, the reaction from the English side was quick and ruthless. Hugo Ekitiké, facing his former team, finished calmly to level the match and shift the momentum. The equaliser lifted Liverpool, who then struck twice before halftime.

Captain Virgil van Dijk rose highest in the box to head home, showing his leadership when needed. Moments later, his central-defensive partner Ibrahima Konaté added the third from a corner in the 43rd minute, leaving Frankfurt stunned.

After the break, Liverpool’s confidence continued to grow. New summer signing Florian Wirtz showed his creative quality again by setting up Cody Gakpo for the fourth. Later, he repeated the same brilliance with a pass to Dominik Szoboszlai, sealing a dominant performance.

Those goals confirmed Liverpool is back to their usual aggressive attacking football, leaving fans encouraged again.

The victory stops Liverpool’s worst streak of defeats in over 70 years. They now have two wins from three Champions League matches this season, pushing their European campaign back on track.

“This is what we needed,” Klopp said.
“The team showed character and belief. Four straight losses are not normal for us, but tonight looked like Liverpool again.”

The German side entered the match believing they could pull off a surprise result, but after their opening goal, their defence collapsed quickly. They now sit fifth in the group standings and must improve to avoid an early exit from the competition.
