  • Jubilee SG Jeremiah Kioni claims Rigathi Gachagua is still working with President Ruto despite public fallout.
  • Allegedly, Gachagua held a closed-door meeting in Narok with 15 leaders and clergy.
  • He reportedly assured a candidate denied a ticket that a later nomination was part of a wider deal.
  • Kioni says Gachagua boasted of consolidating over 8 million votes across regions.
  • Jubilee insists it will only work with parties committed to transparent politics.
  • Kioni urged youth to register as voters in the ongoing IEBC exercise.

Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni has accused former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua of playing double politics while appearing to oppose President William Ruto.

Speaking on Sunday evening, Kioni alleged that Gachagua met with around 15 leaders, including clergy, in Narok County. The discussion focused on why the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) had denied Joshua Ole Kaputa a ticket for the Narok Town Ward by-election.

According to Kioni, Gachagua told the leaders that Kaputa’s chance was part of a broader deal with President Ruto and that he would be considered later.

Kioni further claimed that Gachagua boasted of commanding a strong political base. He allegedly said he could deliver: 7 million votes from Mt. Kenya, 1 million from Kalonzo Musyoka’s supporters, 800,000 from Fred Matiang’i’s side

Gachagua is said to have promised political benefits to the Maasai community once he secured “half of the political cake.”

Kioni dismissed such political dealings, saying Jubilee would not enter into alliances built on secrecy and self-interest.

“We would like to work with like-minded parties that actually believe in sending William Ruto home, not in ‘get your people and I get mine,’” he stated.

The Jubilee SG urged young people to register as voters in the continuous registration exercise launched by IEBC on September 29.

“You must register and register in numbers. It makes no sense to be an active critic of the government and fail to vote them out. Failure to do that amounts to voting them in,” he added.
