Shabana Football Club is preparing for its biggest annual celebration as Gusii Stadium gets ready to host Shabana Day this Sunday. The highly anticipated event will mix football, entertainment, and community pride under the theme “Driving the Future One Goal, One Dream.”

Club officials, led by Secretary General Elizaphan Kerama and Nominated Senator Esther Okenyuri, inspected the stadium on Saturday ahead of the festivities.

Shabana will use the occasion to unveil its latest signings before the 2025/26 Kenyan Premier League season. Fans will also be treated to a friendly match against Tanzanian outfit Pamba Jiji FC, the day’s main sporting attraction.

Beyond football, the event will include live music, cultural performances, raffles, merchandise sales, and meet-and-greet sessions with both current players and club legends.

While the event promises excitement, it also carries a mission. The club is calling on fans to help raise funds for a new, modern team bus to improve travel logistics and support player welfare. Part of the proceeds will also go toward the squad’s preparations for the upcoming season.

Shabana heads into the new campaign buoyed by last season’s strong performance. The Kisii-based side finished fifth with 53 points, winning 14 matches, drawing 11, and losing 9, a record that club leaders believe sets the foundation for greater success.

“Shabana Day is more than just a celebration. It is a chance for fans to come together, back the team, and demonstrate the unstoppable spirit of Tore Bobe,” Kerama said in a statement.
