AFC Leopards have secured a major financial boost after betting firm Betika renewed its sponsorship deal worth KES 231 million over three years. The package surpasses the KES 195 million signed in 2022, making it the largest in the club’s history.

Under the agreement: Year 1: KES 65 million + KES 7 million bonuses Year 2: KES 70 million + KES 7 million bonuses Year 3: KES 75 million + KES 7 million bonuses

Betika Group CEO Mutua Mutava emphasised the importance of the partnership beyond financial terms.

We are proud to continue this journey with AFC Leopards, a club that shares our vision of nurturing homegrown talent and building communities. This sponsorship is more than just funding, it’s about creating hope, structure, and opportunity for the next generation of footballers,” he said.

Mutava further stressed that football remains a lifeline for thousands of young Kenyans dreaming of professional success, adding that the deal reinforces Betika’s belief in the power of sport to transform lives.

Newly elected chairman Boniface Ambani welcomed the deal, terming it timely ahead of the 2025/26 FKFPL season, which kicks off on September 20, 2025.

“This renewed support could not have come at a better time as we prepare for the new season. We are deeply grateful to Betika for their continued faith in our club, especially at a time when Kenyan football urgently needs structured investment,” said Ambani.

He added that many teams across the country are rich in talent but lack resources, stressing that sustainable partnerships are key to building stars from grassroots to the national level.

The renewed sponsorship is seen as a major step in strengthening Kenyan football. Analysts note that empowering clubs like AFC Leopards not only sustains the top tier but also builds the foundation for regional and international dominance.
