Kenya’s political fraternity is in mourning following the death of Mzee Isaac Ichung’wa Ngugi, father to National Assembly Majority Leader and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah.
Speaker Moses Wetang’ula broke the news on Thursday, confirming that the centenarian had passed away peacefully in his Kikuyu home.
In his condolence message, Wetang’ula described Mzee Ngugi as a man whose life of a century was rich in lessons and experiences. He noted that his influence would continue to be felt across generations.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and loved ones of the Kikuyu MP and Leader of Majority, Hon. Kimani Ichung’wah, following the passing of their patriarch, Mzee Isaac Ichung’wa Ngugi,” Wetang’ula wrote.
