Tusker FC have confirmed that Ryan Wesley Ogam will not feature in the 2025/26 KPL season after completing a move to Austrian Bundesliga side Wolfsberger AC. The forward has already agreed on personal terms with the club, though the contract length and financial details remain under wraps.

This transfer comes less than a month before the new season kicks off, leaving Tusker without its most lethal striker.

Ogam’s journey has been rapid. He joined Tusker from Elite Falcons in the UAE and immediately made his mark in the Kenyan Premier League.

The former Rainbow FC forward scored 15 goals in the first leg of the season, and though a knee injury sidelined him for three months, he still finished with 16 goals, a performance that caught the attention of scouts across Africa and Europe.

His breakthrough season sparked interest from clubs beyond Kenya. Algeria’s USM Alger, Morocco’s Raja Club Athletic, and local giants Gor Mahia all pushed to secure his services.

Gor Mahia’s assistant patron, Eliud Owalo, even visited Ogam’s parents, David Rabuok (ex-Gor player) and Edith Rabuok, in a bid to convince the family. Despite the strong pursuit, Wolfsberger AC tabled the most convincing offer, sealing his switch to Europe.

Ogam’s reputation grew further at the 2025 CHAN tournament. He scored against both Zambia and Morocco, with his Man of the Match display against Zambia standing out before Kenya exited in the quarterfinals against Madagascar.

Harambee Stars coach Ben McCarthy praised him highly, saying Ogam has the potential to become the next Michael Olunga.

The young striker also received support from his godfather, ex-Harambee Stars goalkeeper Arnold Origi, who encouraged him to stay disciplined and focused as he begins his European career.

For Tusker FC, Ogam’s exit is a heavy setback just weeks before the new campaign, as he was a key figure in their title chase.

For Ogam, however, it marks the start of a new journey, one where he hopes to follow the path of other Kenyan stars who have succeeded on European soil.
