A domestic quarrel turned deadly in Malindi, Kilifi County, after a man was allegedly beaten to death by his son during a dispute over money.

Wambua suffered severe head injuries and was rushed to a local hospital. Before dying, he told both medical staff and police that his son had assaulted him.

Police arrested the suspect shortly after the incident. He is being held as detectives continue probing the motive, believed to be the money dispute.

The victim’s body has been moved to the mortuary for a post-mortem examination to confirm the cause of death.

“We are treating this as a serious criminal matter. Justice will be served,” police said.
