  • United sign Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo for £71 million (including add-ons).
  • Mbeumo scored 20 goals and 7 assists last season, ranking among the EPL’s top scorers.
  • The 25-year-old signs a five-year deal with an option for a sixth year.
  • Marcus Rashford is close to joining Barcelona on loan for the season.

Manchester United have officially announced the signing of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford in a deal worth up to £71 million. The transfer includes a £65 million base fee and an additional £6 million in performance-based add-ons.

The 25-year-old forward impressed last season with 20 goals and seven assists, a tally only beaten by Mohamed Salah, Erling Haaland, and Alexander Isak. His numbers put him firmly among the Premier League’s elite.

After completing his medical over the weekend, Mbeumo signed a five-year contract with the option to extend for a sixth season.

“As soon as I knew United were interested, it was an easy decision,” Mbeumo told the club’s website. “This is the team I supported growing up, and now I’m ready to give everything to help us win trophies.”

The Cameroon international becomes the third new arrival under head coach Ruben Amorim, following the signings of Matheus Cunha and rising star Diego Leon.

United’s Director of Football, Jason Wilcox, described Mbeumo as a perfect fit for the new direction the club is heading.

“Bryan’s Premier League record speaks for itself. He fits our new culture and brings exactly the kind of mentality Ruben is building here,” said Wilcox.

In a surprising twist, Marcus Rashford is set to leave Old Trafford temporarily. The England international has touched down in Spain ahead of a planned medical, with a season-long loan to Barcelona nearing completion.

The move has been initiated by Barcelona’s coach Hansi Flick, who sees Rashford as a player who can rediscover his top form in a new environment.

His exit paves the way for Mbeumo to slot into United’s refreshed front line as Amorim shapes his squad ahead of the new season.

Mbeumo is expected to join the team during their U.S. pre-season tour later this week, where fans may get a first glimpse of him in red. As Rashford prepares for a new challenge in Spain, United’s attacking evolution under Ruben Amorim is already taking shape.
