Butere Girls from Kakamega County have reclaimed the Western Region KSSSA title after emerging with a 1-0 win against Madira Girls in an entertaining encounter staged at Mumias Sports Complex.
The Red Commandoes capped off a remarkable campaign with a statement victory that not only handed them the crown but also served as sweet revenge after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Madira in the group stage opener.
Butere commenced their 2025 regional championship with a narrow loss against Madira.In the second game,they bounced back with a determined 1-0 win over Mbakalo Girls.
They then stamped their authority with a commanding 5-0 win against Chakol Girls.They emerged position two in the group B with six points sealing a slot in the Western Region semi Finals.
However,in the semi finals,the Red Commandoes overcame arch rivals Archbishop Njenga in a tense showdown ending the derby with a 2-0 win.
Madira Girls,from Vihiga county, enjoyed unbeaten group stage campaign clinching the first position with 7 points.After recording a win over Butere Girls in the Opener,they crushed Chakol Girls 4-0 and held Mbakalo to a goalless draw.
The Red Commandoes triumph not only cements their western region dominance,but also sets a tone as they prepare to represent the region in the National completions which will be held later in Kakamega County.
