- Fredrick Mwiti was arrested during a routine stop on the Thika-Garissa Road
- His car had insurance, but the sticker wasn’t fixed on the windscreen
- He explained in court that he had no glue to stick it on
- The magistrate accepted his plea and gave a strong warning instead of punishment
A traffic stop on the Thika-Garissa Road landed one motorist in trouble after officers noticed something missing his insurance sticker was not visible on the car. Although the vehicle was insured, the missing display led to the arrest of Fredrick Mwiti near Makongeni on the morning of July 11, 2025.
When brought before the Thika Law Courts, Mwiti did not deny the charge. He admitted to the mistake but gave a clear reason. He told the magistrate that he had a valid sticker with him but had no super glue to stick it onto the windshield.
Mwiti also apologised to the court and promised to fix the issue as soon as possible.
After considering his honesty, guilty plea, and clean record, the magistrate opted for leniency. Instead of issuing a fine or sentencing him to jail, the court chose to let him off with a strong warning.
Mwiti walked out free, but with a clear reminder to keep all vehicle documents in proper order going forward.
