Nairobi, Kenya –Relief washed over a worried family on Thursday after Mr. Ndiangui Kinyagia, who had been missing for days, was confirmed to be alive, safe, and in good health.
The news broke through an official statement released by his lawyer, Wahome Thuku, revealing that Mr. Kinyagia made contact with his family on Tuesday evening from an undisclosed location. According to his legal team, he went into hiding after learning that officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) were actively searching for him.
It is alleged that unspecified criminal claims were being linked to him. Out of fear for his safety and the manner of the search, Mr. Kinyagia opted for seclusion rather than immediate surrender.
However, he has now indicated readiness to cooperate — but only under assurance of personal safety.
His lawyers have since advised him to appear before the High Court at Milimani Law Courts on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has been alerted to attend and offer legal oversight.
The statement further claims that while he was away, DCI officers stormed his residence, allegedly taking away several personal items. The family has already filed a complaint at Kinoo Police Station regarding the raid and seizure.
In the same breath, the family extended deep appreciation to Kenyans both locally and abroad who showed support, concern, and solidarity during the tense period. They now hope for a fair and transparent legal process going forward.
