Work on the Elburgon Affordable Housing Project in Nakuru County is nearly done, with the project now 95% complete. The housing project, which was launched in September 2023, is one of the government’s key plans under the affordable housing agenda.
The building section of the project is at 98%, meaning most of the heavy work is over. What remains now are the civil engineering tasks such as drainage and external finishes.
The estate includes nine blocks that will provide a total of 220 homes once completed. Each block is designed to cater to different housing needs of families and individuals.
The plan features one block with 60 studio apartments, another with 20 one-bedroom units, and a third block holding 20 three-bedroom units. The other six blocks have 20 two-bedroom homes each, totaling 120 two-bedroom houses.
Right now, 220 workers are actively involved in the final stages. Scaffolding is being taken down, and the focus has shifted to completion and clean-up work.
Completion Set for June as Final Works Continue
If all goes as planned, the entire project will be done by the end of June 2025. The final touches are moving swiftly, and the site is preparing to hand over homes to new owners soon.
