- Obinna admits he’s been nervous and uneasy since leaving the interview location.
- He felt anxious at every roadblock, fearing he was being followed.
- The tension stems from rising political pressure in the country.
- There are whispers that Deputy President Gachagua may face arrest over his remarks.
- Obinna fears the state might also target him simply for conducting the interview.
Kenyan media personality Obinna has revealed that he’s been battling fear and anxiety ever since his interview with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. He admitted that after they left the filming location in Wamunyoro, he became suspicious of every roadblock, thinking it might be a trap to arrest him.
During the interview, Obinna said the experience was great, but with the current political heat in the country, he couldn’t relax. The media environment has become so sensitive that even a normal interview can leave one shaken.
“It was a good interview, but with everything going on, I’ve been really tense,” Obinna shared.
Gachagua’s Remarks Spark Arrest Rumours
The tension around the interview increased after Gachagua made bold remarks concerning the 2007 post-election violence. His statements triggered speculation that authorities might soon arrest him for the comments he made on Obinna TV.
Obinna is now worried that he might also be caught in the storm for simply doing his job. He fears the state might turn its attention to him as the host who gave Gachagua the platform. According to him, it wouldn’t be surprising if he’s picked up without warning or formal charges.
“The government has power; they can arrest someone even without a clear reason,” Obinna added.
Political Tension Fueling Unrest in Media Circles
The incident reflects the growing anxiety among journalists and creators, especially when dealing with high-profile political guests. With tensions rising and statements being scrutinized, even those behind the camera feel exposed.
Obinna’s experience is a reminder of the pressure many face in the line of duty when politics mixes with media.
