Gor Mahia Part Ways with Coach Sinisa Mihic After Three Months at the Helm

  • The decision comes after Gor Mahia recording only 2 wins in their last 5 Premier League matches.
  • The club now remains in control of the Assistant Coach Zedekiah Zico Otieno.

Gor Mahia FC have parted ways with head coach Sinisa Mihic by mutual agreement after just three months at the helm.

The decision follows a dip in form and reported rift with the technical bench and senior players that have derailed the club’s push for the 2024–2025 FKF Premier League (FKF-PL) title.

Mihic racked up eight wins, five draws and two losses in the 14 league games during his tenure at the club, having also guided Gor to the semi-finals of the FKF Cup after defeating Kariobangi Sharks 2-0 in the quarters.

However, the record premier league champions have managed only two wins in their last five premier league matches, collecting just one point from their last two matches.

They lost 2-1 to relegation-threatened Nairobi City Stars on Thursday, May 15, 2025, and were held to a goalless draw by Murang’a Seal on Sunday, May 18.

However, tensions boiled over after the Murang’a match, as frustrated fans confronted the 48-year-old tactician at St. Sebastian Park, demanding answers following a string of inconsistent results.

Gor’s last win came on Sunday, May 4, when they edged Shabana FC 1-0 in a tense encounter at Gusii Stadium.

K’ogalo are currently third in the league standings with 54 points from 31 matches, seven points behind leaders Police FC but with a game in hand.

With only four games remaining for K’ogalo in the season, assistant coaches Michael Nam and Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno will take over the team on an interim basis.

Gor players have however vowed to fight for maximum points in the remaining fixtures as they cling on to slim hopes of clinching the title.
