Call to Turn Out in Numbers for Madaraka Day

UDA leader Frank Oluoch has called on widows’ group leaders in Shauri Yako to rally their members for a warm welcome of President William Ruto during Madaraka Day celebrations in Homabay. The meeting, held on Tuesday in Arujo Ward, aimed to ensure strong grassroots involvement ahead of the national event.

According to Oluoch, this is a historic moment for the county. He asked the widows to lead the way in showing support for the president, saying it is a sign of unity and strength from the people of Homabay.

“Let’s Show Our Strength and Support” – Oluoch

Speaking during the meeting, Oluoch said President Ruto’s visit is more than just a celebration — it is a chance for the region to stand together. He added, “This is our opportunity to show the whole country that Homabay stands with the President. Let us come out in large numbers with energy and pride.”

Tension in UDA Over Assassination Claims

Oluoch also used the platform to speak about ongoing claims linking some UDA members to the recent murder of Kasipul MP Charles Ong’ondo Were. He dismissed the allegations, calling them attempts to divide and distract the party at a time of unity.

“These accusations are baseless tactics to destabilize our unity. We trust in the rule of law and urge our supporters to remain peaceful as authorities investigate,” he said.

Support for Widows and Future Promises

The meeting didn’t just focus on politics — Oluoch also provided financial aid to the widows’ groups, thanking them for their continued efforts and assuring them of future assistance.

“This is just the beginning. More initiatives will follow to uplift our communities,” he promised.
