Allies of Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka have demanded that President William Ruto take responsibility for the escalating chaos witnessed during his recent political tours in Nairobi.

Speaking at a press briefing on Friday, March 14, Makueni Senator Dan Maanzo raised concerns over the violence and disorder that have marred the President’s visits. He noted that a British national had lost his life after being hit by a vehicle within Ruto’s motorcade on Ngong Road.

Call for Apology and Compensation

Maanzo insisted that the President should apologize to the victim’s family and offer compensation, emphasizing that leaders must be accountable for tragedies occurring under their watch.

“The situation has gotten out of hand. We have seen cases of theft and violence at these rallies. Some individuals who attend the gatherings end up robbing innocent Kenyans. The government must ensure security, especially for people in vehicles,” stated Maanzo.

Concerns Over Political Strategy

The Senator further claimed that the ongoing political tours were a calculated move by Ruto’s administration to soften public resistance ahead of Finance Bill 2025.

“We have to analyze this carefully. These tours are being used to prepare the ground for another Finance Bill, similar to the controversial 2024 version. Kenyans must remain vigilant,” he remarked.

As pressure mounts, leaders are calling for immediate security measures to prevent further violence and ensure that all citizens remain safe during political gatherings.
