The changes, announced by Registrar of Political Parties Anne Nderitu, also introduced new leadership appointments within the party:

Waititu’s appointment has sparked debate as it comes just days after his conviction in a Ksh588 million corruption case. He was found guilty of conflict of interest and sentenced to 12 years in jail unless he paid a Ksh53.5 million fine.
Despite the legal and ethical concerns, the gazette notice indicates that any objections to these leadership changes must be submitted in writing within seven days from the date of publication.
