- ODM National Treasurer Timothy Bosire has declined his appointment as NTSA board chairperson by President William Ruto.
- The appointment, announced in a gazette notice on January 17, 2025, was to replace Dr. Manoj Shah.
- Bosire expressed gratitude to the President but cited consultations with ODM leadership, family, and friends as reasons for his decision.
President Ruto, through Gazette Notice No. 391, named Timothy Bosire as the non-executive chairperson of the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) for a three-year term. However, Bosire rejected the offer.
In a statement to the Daily Nation, Bosire explained his decision:
“After consultations with a section of the leadership, my family, and friends, I have decided to decline this appointment.”
Despite his rejection of the role, Bosire thanked the President for considering him.
The reasons behind his decision are likely tied to his alignment with ODM, a party that has often clashed politically with Ruto’s administration.
Bosire’s decision opens the door for another nominee to take up the role of NTSA board chairperson. The President is expected to name a replacement in the coming weeks.
