The rivalry between Tanzanian artists Harmonize and Diamond Platnumz over who will elevate Bongo Fleva music to the global stage continues to heat up. Harmonize has recently criticized Diamond for failing to secure a Grammy nomination, reigniting their competitive feud
In a press statement, Harmonize expressed confidence in becoming the first East African artist to win a Grammy. He took a swipe at Diamond’s song Komasava, featuring Canadian star Jason Derulo, dismissing it as lacking meaningful content. According to Harmonize, the track’s repetitive French greeting, “Comment ça va,” does little to secure international acclaim.
“Kuzungumzia kuhusu Grammy, jibu langu litakuwa hivi: kama unazungumza kuhusu Grammy basi jua hapa mnazungumza na mshindi wa Grammy Makala ya 2025/2026. Kwa sababu mimi najua inahitaji nini ili kushinda. Huwezi shinda Grammy kwa kusalimia watu. Huwezi,” Harmonize declared, emphasizing his ambition to represent Bongo Fleva on the global stage.
Diamond Platnumz, on the other hand, responded calmly to his fans’ disappointment at his absence from the Grammy nominations list. Acknowledging the setback, he encouraged fans to remain hopeful, promising to use the experience as motivation.
Diamond assured his followers that he would head back to the studio to create more impactful songs, which he referred to as “rocks,” in preparation for next year’s Grammy nominations.
The ongoing feud between Harmonize and Diamond highlights their competitive drive to take Bongo Fleva music to greater heights. While Harmonize is confident in his abilities to achieve Grammy success, Diamond is determined to rise stronger, aiming to prove his global influence in the years to come.
