Popular comedian and content creator Crazy Kennar, whose real name is Kennedy Odhiambo, recently revealed the humorous yet insightful story of how his restaurant business collapsed. Despite his success in comedy, the 26-year-old admitted that poor planning and a series of rookie mistakes led to the downfall of his venture.

The Missteps

Speaking during an interview with Oga Obinna, Kennar highlighted key reasons for his business failure. Among them was his decision to hire unqualified friends instead of professionals to save money. This, he admitted, led to chaotic and amusing outcomes.

Kennar recounted hiring a friend as a delivery rider who had no motorbike experience. “The guy wobbled his way into a ditch, bending the bike,” Kennar narrated with laughter. Another friend, employed as a waiter, caused even more issues by ignoring customers in favor of telling stories and, at times, helping himself to the buffet.

Lessons Learned

Kennar confessed to other errors, such as frequently eating his own stock, believing it would help the business grow. Reflecting on the experience, he admitted he lacked the expertise to run a business.

“Starting a business is not as easy as it seems. You think you’ll open today, market tomorrow, and the profits will just roll in,” he said.

Through the experience, Kennar developed a newfound appreciation for entrepreneurs, regardless of their business size. “Anyone in business, hata kama anauza njugu (even if they’re selling groundnuts), deserves respect,” he concluded.

While Crazy Kennar’s restaurant venture may have ended humorously, the experience taught him valuable lessons about entrepreneurship. His story serves as a lighthearted reminder of the challenges involved in running a business and the respect owed to those who succeed in the field.
