Jamaican dancehall sensation Adidja Palmer, famously known as Vybz Kartel, sparked concern on Monday night after falling ill at a nightclub in Kingston. The 48-year-old artist, who was recently released from prison, appeared to be in distress, raising alarms about his ongoing health issues.

Vybz Kartel was seen being helped out of the club by security after suddenly feeling unwell during his night out. Videos of the incident have gone viral, with fans expressing concern over his condition, especially considering his known health struggles. Following the incident, reports from Jamaica confirmed that Kartel is now “doing well” and recovering.

Kartel, who was released from prison in July 2024 after serving 13 years for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams, has been battling Graves’ disease, an autoimmune disorder that affects the thyroid. Symptoms of Graves’ disease, which can cause bulging eyes and swelling, were visible upon his release, with fans noting his swollen face and neck. In addition to Graves’ disease, the artist is also managing a serious heart condition.

His deteriorating health influenced the decision to release Kartel. The Jamaican Court of Appeal found that his condition, particularly Graves’ disease, posed a significant threat to his well-being, contributing to his early release. Since his return to public life, fans have closely followed his health journey, expressing hope for his recovery.

The recent incident at the Kingston nightclub has once again brought attention to Vybz Kartel’s health challenges. As he continues to battle Graves’ disease and heart problems, fans remain concerned for his well-being while celebrating his return to freedom after nearly 13 years in prison.
