Marc Brys breathes confidence Ahead of AFCON qualifiers showdown with Kenya

The stage is set for a clash of titans as Cameroon and Kenya prepare to face off in a crucial AFCON qualifiers match at the Amadou Ahidjo Stadium. In a riveting pre-match press conference, Coach Marc Brys of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon laid out his strategic vision for the upcoming encounter.

Acknowledging Kenya’s defensive prowess, Brys remarked, “Kenya play with a low block and look to win their games with the slightest margins.” Despite this, Brys exuded confidence in his team, stating, “We don’t have to be afraid… We are humble, but we’re not impressed.” He emphasized a calculated approach, noting, “We are going to find the right moment and spot to hurt them.”

Amid the mounting pressure of such a significant match, Brys emphasized the team’s readiness, stating, “Pressure is part of our job. We have to deal with the situation and not cry about it.” Highlighting the defensive challenge posed by Kenya, Brys added, “They’ve come with 9 defenders in the team, so it will be a hard team to break down.”

Defender Jackson Tchatchoua, a crucial player in Cameroon’s lineup, echoed a sentiment of unity and determination, stating, “We continue with the team spirit after what happened in the crisis period. We are very well motivated. Nothing changes.” Tchatchoua’s calm assurance in the face of pressure reflected the team’s collective resolve, with him affirming, “There’s pressure, but we are professionals. We know how to deal with pressure. We shall take it positively.”

As anticipation builds for the encounter on October 11th, fans eagerly await a thrilling match at the Amadou Ahidjo Stadium. Skill, strategy, and unwavering determination will be on full display as Cameroon and Kenya vie for victory in this pivotal AFCON qualifier clash.
