Earlier today president William Ruto has appointed former Transport CS Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen as the Cabinet Secretary for Sports.Murkomen will be officially announced as the CS sports if the National assembly will approve him.
This happens after the president dissolved the whole cabinet.The Sports docket has been under the leadership of Ababu Namwamba.Ababu has been serving as the CS for Sports from 2022 when he was appointed by president William Ruto.
Kipchumba Murkomen went to St Joseph High School,Kitale before transferring to St Peters Iten in Elgeyo Marakwet.Murkomen later joined University of Nairobi, Parklands Campus where he graduated with Bachelor of Laws in 2004.
Kipchumba Murkomen was an active member and playmaker at Bunge FC.When he was serving as the senator for Elgeyo Marakwet,Murkomen was known as the Set piece master in the Bunge FC.
However,if approved by the parliament, Murkomen will replace Ababu Namwamba and join the rank of previous cabinet secretaries including Najib Balala,Ochilo Ayako,Maina Kamanda,Esther Murugi,Naomi Shaban,Hassan Wario,Rashid Echesa and Amina Mohammed.
