Francis Ngannou, a Former UFC Fighter, Will Take On Anthony Joshua In a Ten-Round Professional Boxing Match In March

Later this year, on March 9, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou will make his second appearance in the ring against former world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua. The fight will last ten rounds.

After being sidelined since making his professional boxing debut in October in Riyadh, Ngannou joined with the Professional Fighters League as a heavyweight. In his first match, a ten-round bout against WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury ended in a contentious split decision loss.

Famed for his performance in his very first professional boxing match, Cameroonian knockout specialist Ngannou stunned Furry with a spectacular knockout before suffering a questionable decision loss in Saudi Arabia.

Joshua, the two-time heavyweight world champion, is now riding high after winning three straight fights in the latter part of the previous year. The most recent time Joshua pulled up Otto Wallin was during a planned “Day of Reckoning” event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Ngannou has not yet made his PFL promotional debut. His most recent mixed martial arts performance was a majority decision victory over the interim heavyweight champion at UFC 270 in Anaheim, California, in January 2022. This victory was achieved while defending and unifying his title. The trip was also Ngannou’s final under his Octagon contract, which ended at the start of the previous year.
