One of the members of the well-known musical group P-Unit that was well-known at the time, Bon Eye, made waves online when he revealed why the group had rejected Diamond Platnumz’s request for a collaboration.
In an interview with Spm Buzz, Bon stated that P-Unit was one of the greatest crews in Africa at the time and that they were all superstars. Diamond Platinum was still a struggling up-and-coming musician at the time.
He made the decision to approach them on his own, humbled himself, and asked to work together. Diamond only wanted P-Unit to include him on a song he had already written. But the request was denied by the crew.
After Diamond Platnumz waited on them for four solid hours, according to Bon, Gabu told them not to work with him due of his lips. Because Diamond was a struggling artist, he simply gave off the impression of being extremely broke, and P-Unit was unable to work with him on any joint projects or songs because of this.
He even raised the curtain for them when they travelled to Nigeria. Despite the shift in schedule, Diamond persisted in her diligent and astute job. He was able to accept these rejections and turn them into opportunities for growth.
A few years later, diamonds began to get significant attention in Africa. The lifestyle, ratecard, and funbase of Diamond Platnumz cannot be compared to those of P-Unit members as of 2023. He is undoubtedly one of the wealthiest artists in East Africa and is well ahead.
