Reports suggest that Chelsea is making significant progress in securing their third striker signing for the summer. According to the sources, the club has reached an agreement on both the transfer fee and personal terms with Brazilian forward Angelo Gabriel.

Strengthening their attacking options has been a top priority for incoming Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino. Last season, the Blues struggled to find the back of the net, scoring a mere 38 goals in 38 Premier League matches.

Kai Havertz and Raheem Sterling were the joint-top scorers, each managing just nine goals across all competitions. Although Pochettino’s official start date is Saturday, Chelsea has already started making moves in the transfer market.

The club has already finalized a deal to sign Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal for a transfer fee of £32 million. Additionally, Chelsea recently announced the acquisition of Jamaican international Dujuan ‘Whisper’ Richards.

Now, it appears that a third forward is on the verge of joining Stamford Bridge. A fee of £12.9 million has been agreed upon for Angelo, with personal terms settled for a long-term contract that extends until 2029.

While Barcelona has the option to match Chelsea’s bid within the next 48 hours, it seems unlikely that the La Liga club will exercise that option.

Angelo is expected to join Chelsea for pre-season preparations. However, given his young age of 18 (turning 19 in December), there is a possibility that he may be sent out on loan to gain further experience.

Currently representing Brazilian side Santos, the club where Neymar began his career, Angelo has drawn comparisons to the Paris Saint-Germain superstar.

Despite scoring only five goals in 129 appearances for Santos, his potential and talent have caught the attention of Chelsea’s scouting team.
