The Director of Criminal Investigations in Kenya, Mohamed Amin, held a fruitful meeting with Mohamed Abdulwahab Sh-Mohamed, the Commander of the Criminal Investigative Division of Somalia’s Police Force.
The meeting, which took place at the Mazingira Complex offices, marked a crucial step in strengthening collaboration between the two countries in the fight against terrorism, violent extremism, and transnational organized crime.
The meeting between the two Chiefs followed discussions held by the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) Kenya and the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit in conjunction with their Somali counterparts, with officials from the U.S Embassy in Nairobi. The discussions centered on countering terrorism in the Horn of Africa region.
During their meeting, Director Mohamed Amin and Commander Mohamed Abdulwahab Sh-Mohamed explored various avenues for collaboration in areas of mutual interest, including intelligence sharing and joint efforts to combat transnational organized crimes. Recognizing the common security challenges faced by both countries, the Chiefs discussed strategies to strengthen their existing ties and foster greater cooperation between their investigative agencies.
The primary focus of the discussions revolved around combating terrorism and violent extremism, which pose significant threats to regional stability.
