Teen preacher Rev Victor Githu has apologized for sending his mother to get him water during a Bible study session. The video of the incident went viral, with many Kenyans criticizing Githu for being disrespectful to his mother.

In the video, Githu is heard saying to his mother, “Can you get me some water? Tafathali.” Without any hesitation, his mother replies “Yes”, and instantly rises to go bring him some water.

Githu later explained that he was not feeling well and that he used the word “tafadhali”. He also said that he appreciated his followers’ concerns and that he had learned something new from the incident.

“I am very sorry and where there is a problem, we will fix it and make it better,” he said. “I have learned something new and thank you all for your patience.”

The apology has been met with mixed reactions. Some people have accepted Githu’s apology, while others believe that he should have apologized sooner.

The young pastor has been involved in various controversies, including claiming to receive prophesies from God.

In 2021, Githu was accused of plagiarism after it was revealed that he had copied large sections of his book, “The Victor Githu Story,” from other sources.

The allegations were made by a Kenyan blogger named Robert Alai, who posted a series of screenshots on Twitter that showed the similarities between Githu’s book and other works.

The screenshots showed that Githu had copied passages from books by authors such as Joel Osteen, T.D. Jakes, and Joyce Meyer. In some cases, Githu had copied the passages verbatim, while in other cases he had changed the wording slightly.

Githu responded to the allegations by saying that he had used “fair use” when he incorporated passages from other works into his book. He also said that he had cited his sources in the book, but that the citations had been omitted from the published version.

However, many people were not convinced by Githu’s explanation. They argued that he had plagiarized the passages and that his use of “fair use” was not justified.

The allegations damaged Githu’s reputation, and they led to calls for him to be investigated by the Kenya Copyright Board.

The Kenya Copyright Board eventually investigated the allegations, but they found that there was not enough evidence to take any action against Githu. However, the board did issue a warning to Githu, and they told him to be more careful in the future about using other people’s work without permission.
