Renowned Kenyan singer Nadia Mukami recently opened up about her fascinating cultural experience during a visit to the hometown of her romantic partner, popular musician Arrow Bwoy.
The talented artist shared her surprise and amusement at witnessing a unique cultural practice involving the in-laws from Arrow Bwoy’s side kneeling down when greeting elders and serving the husband. Nadia described the encounter as her own “culture shock ya Uganda,” referring to the cultural differences she encountered during her trip.

During her visit to Arrow Bwoy’s rural home, Nadia was introduced to the customs and traditions of his community, which she found distinct and unfamiliar. Witnessing the in-laws from Arrow Bwoy’s side respectfully kneeling down when greeting elders and serving her partner left her amazed and intrigued.
“When I went to @arrowbwoy ‘s shagz I Saw in laws from his side kneel down when greeting elders or when serving your husband that was my culture shock ya Uganda 😁 What culture shock did you experience when you met your in laws??😁,” she posed.
This practice, deeply rooted in Ugandan culture, was a stark contrast to the customs she had been accustomed to in Kenya.
