Pep keen to keep Ilkay Gundogan
While there have been previous reports of interest from Barcelona, Football Insider suggests that Guardiola is determined to keep the German international at the Etihad Stadium.
Gundogan, who came through the youth academy at VfL Bochum, has had a successful career in Germany and England. He helped Borussia Dortmund win the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal double in his first season with the club and reached the UEFA Champions League Final in 2013. Since joining Manchester City in 2016 for a reported transfer fee of £21 million, Gundogan has won multiple domestic titles, including four Premier League titles.
The midfielder has also been a regular for the German national team, earning caps at various youth levels before making his senior debut in 2011. He has been selected for Germany’s squads at several major tournaments, including UEFA Euro 2012, the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and UEFA Euro 2020.
