Crystal Palace forward Michael Olise has been identified by Paris Saint-Germain as a potential replacement for Lionel Messi, according to the Daily Mail.
The 21-year-old France international reportedly fits the profile of player PSG wants to pursue this summer as they prepare for the expected departure of Messi and Neymar.
Paris Saint-Germain target Michael Olise
Olise signed a five-year deal with Premier League side Crystal Palace in July 2021 after they activated his £8.37 million release clause.
Since then, the young forward has made several impressive performances, including his Premier League debut in a 3-0 home win against Tottenham in September 2021.
Olise made his full debut for Crystal Palace in a 1-1 home draw against Newcastle United in October 2021, and in October of the same year, he scored his first Premier League goal for the team as a second-half substitute in a 2-2 home draw against Leicester City.
In April 2023, Olise made history as the youngest player to assist three goals from open play in a single Premier League match in a 5-1 victory against Leeds United.
Paris Saint-Germain has been scouting for a replacement for Messi and Neymar, and Olise is said to be a top candidate.
The young forward’s impressive performances for Crystal Palace have caught the attention of the French giants, and they see him as a potential star in the making.
PSG Compete for Olise
If PSG does decide to make a move for Olise, they will have to compete with several other clubs that are also reportedly interested in signing him.
However, the allure of playing for a team like PSG, with its wealth of talent and resources, maybe too much for Olise to resist.
For now, Olise will continue to focus on his performances for Crystal Palace and helping them climb up the Premier League table.
However, it remains to be seen whether he will be wearing the colors of the French giants next season.
