The passing of Daniel Korokoro, a prominent Kenyan freedom fighter, has sparked an outpouring of grief and tributes from across the country. Korokoro, who passed away earlier today, was a fearless and determined leader who spent his life fighting for the rights of Kenyans.
Speaking about Korokoro’s legacy, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga said: “Daniel Korokoro was a true hero and a patriot who dedicated his life to fighting for the freedom and dignity of all Kenyans. He was a fearless leader who never shied away from standing up for what he believed in.”

Korokoro was a prominent figure in Kenya’s struggle for independence, and later became involved in the quest for multi-party democracy in the 1990s. He was the last president of the Kenya People’s Union (KPU) before the party was banned in 1969.
Reflecting on his life and legacy, Raila Odinga said: “Korokoro was a selfless leader who never sought personal gain or glory. He was always focused on the needs of the people, and he worked tirelessly to create a better future for all Kenyans. His passing is a great loss to our country, but his legacy will live on.”
