Man City ready to break the bank for Jude Bellingham

Manchester City are reportedly ready to break the bank to secure the signing of Borussia Dortmund’s teenage sensation, Jude Bellingham.

According to The Telegraph, City are willing to pay “whatever it takes” to bring the England midfielder to the Etihad this summer, and the club is not put off by Dortmund’s £110m price tag.

The report suggests that City and Real Madrid are the two front-runners in the race to sign the highly-rated teenager, with Manchester United, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain also showing interest in Bellingham. However, it is believed that financial constraints may prevent them from making a bid for the midfielder.

If City were to sign Bellingham, they would likely break their club transfer record, which currently stands at the £100m they paid for Jack Grealish in the summer of 2021. Bellingham has been in sensational form for Dortmund since joining them from Birmingham City in 2020 and has established himself as one of the brightest young talents in European football.

Given City’s history of splashing the cash to secure their top targets, it is no surprise that they are willing to pay a hefty fee for Bellingham. However, it remains to be seen if Dortmund would be willing to part ways with their prized asset, especially given their reluctance to sell Erling Haaland in the past. It looks like the battle for Bellingham’s signature will be one of the biggest transfer sagas of the summer.
