Two drug traffickers were arrested on Thursday, April 6 by anti-narcotics detectives attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
According to the DCI’s statement dated Friday, April 7, the suspects were arrested and drugs suspected to be heroin were recovered during the early morning raid.
A boda boda rider in the Uthiru area was found to be in possession of 222 sachets of the dangerous narcotic, which was allegedly being delivered to potential customers.
“The undercover sleuths pounced on Selestino Inee, 32, who was ferrying the drugs stashed in his jacket using a motorbike registration number KMEY 571Y.
“The suspect led the detectives to his accomplice’s house Pepriter Kadenyi, 44, where a further recovery of the granular substance was recovered,” stated the DCI in part.
Also recovered was dry marijuana with a street worth of Ksh100,000 wrapped in a manila shopping bag and two digital weighing scales.
The arrest of the duo followed an operation in neighboring Rirurta Satellite the previous day, where the detectives recovered 13 sachets of cocaine from one Vincent Amufa, 40.
The three suspects are currently in custody at Muthaiga police station as they await hearing on Tuesday, April 11.
Police also encouraged members of the public to be vigilant as they intensify their investigations and arrests of drug rings in the country.
