According to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are in negotiations with Reiss Nelson over a new contract.
The 23-year-old winger’s current deal is set to expire at the end of this season. Although Nelson has been hampered by injuries this campaign, he has made a significant impact when he has been on the pitch.
Despite playing only 103 minutes in the Premier League this season, the young winger has been directly involved in five goals, an impressive statistic that equates to 4.37 per 90 minutes.
Nelson scored twice against Nottingham Forest in October and netted a last-minute winner against Bournemouth in March, while also providing assists in both games.
Most of Nelson’s appearances this season have come in the Europa League, where he has made six appearances without any goals or assists.
However, he did start and contribute an assist in his solitary Carabao Cup appearance, which was in the 3-1 loss to Brighton. Overall, Nelson has shown great potential and talent in his performances for Arsenal, and the Gunners will be eager to tie him down to a new deal as they look to build for the future.
