George Magoha is a Kenyan academic and education administrator who once served as the Cabinet Secretary for Education in Kenya. He was appointed to this position in January 2020. Magoha was born on June 20, 1946, in Bungoma County, Kenya.
Education
He received his primary and secondary education in Kenya before going on to study medicine at the University of Nairobi. He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree in 1973.
After completing his medical studies, Magoha worked as a medical officer at various health facilities in Kenya before joining the University of Nairobi as a lecturer in the Department of Surgery in 1977. He later went on to become a Professor of Surgery at the university.
Magoha has also held various positions in the Kenyan government, including serving as the Director of Medical Services and the Principal Secretary for Medical Services. In 2018, he was appointed as the Chairman of the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Council.
