4 Key Chelsea players set for Saudi Exodus

  • N’Golo Kante, Edouard Mendy, Koulibaly, and Ziyech are some of Chelsea’s players set to join Saudi leagues.

Chelsea are set to lose four players to Saudi-based clubs this summer as the Blues begin a summer clearout.

Midfielder N’Golo Kante is close to agreeing a deal to join Al Ittihad after seven years at Chelsea. The 32-year-old Frenchman is a free agent at the end of June, and is keen to seek a new challenge after winning the Premier League, Champions League, Europa League, and FIFA Club World Cup with the Blues.

Kante is a world-class midfielder known for his energy, tackling ability, and passing range. He would be a major asset to any team, and Al Ittihad are reportedly offering him a lucrative contract.

Goalkeeper Edouard Mendy is also set to leave Chelsea this summer. The 31-year-old Senegalese international lost his place to Kepa Arrizabalaga last season, and is now surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.

Mendy is a talented goalkeeper who was a key part of Chelsea’s Champions League victory in 2021. However, he has struggled to maintain his form in recent months, and Al Ahli are reportedly offering him a chance to revive his career.

Defender Kalidou Koulibaly is also being targeted by Saudi-based clubs. The 30-year-old Senegalese international has been a key player for Chelsea since joining the club in 2018.

However, he has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in recent months, and Al Hilal are reportedly interested in signing him.

Koulibaly is a strong, physical defender who is known for his aerial ability. He would be a major asset to any team, and Al Hilal are reportedly offering him a lucrative contract.

Winger Hakim Ziyech is close to an agreement with Cristiano Ronaldo’s club Al Nassr. The 29-year-old Moroccan international has struggled to find his form at Chelsea since joining the club in 2020.

He was on the verge of joining Paris Saint-Germain in January, but the move fell through due to paperwork issues.

Ziyech is a talented winger who is known for his dribbling ability and creativity. He would be a major asset to any team, and Al Nassr are reportedly offering him a chance to revive his career.

The sale of these four players would generate significant revenue for Chelsea, who are looking to raise funds after being sanctioned by the UK government.

The Blues are also expected to sell other players this summer as they look to rebuild their squad under new manager Mauricio Pochettino.
