  • Aston Villa beat Fenerbahce 6-0 at Villa Park in the Champions League on October 14, 2026.
  • Nicolas Jackson and Ross Barkley each scored twice, while Johan Manzambi and Tammy Abraham added one goal apiece.
  • Manzambi opened the scoring on his 21st birthday before Jackson struck twice in the first half.
  • Barkley converted a penalty and scored again after the break, with Abraham completing the victory in the 90th minute.Aston Villa produced a memorable European performance on Wednesday night, overwhelming Fenerbahce 6-0 to register their biggest victory in European competition. Unai Emery’s men combined clinical finishing with sustained attacking pressure to secure their first home win of the 2026/27 season. Prince William was among the spectators who witnessed the commanding display at Villa Park.

The hosts took control early and had three goals on the board by half-time. Nicolas Jackson led the scoring with a first-half brace, while Johan Manzambi marked his 21st birthday with the opening goal. Ross Barkley added two more after the interval before substitute Tammy Abraham completed the rout late in the match.

Villa broke the deadlock in the 12th minute when Manzambi’s effort took a deflection and wrong-footed Fenerbahce goalkeeper Ederson. The goal gave the home side an early advantage and rewarded their positive start to the contest.

Jackson extended the lead in the 31st minute after Boubacar Kamara played him through for a low finish. The Senegal international struck again eight minutes later, capitalising on another opening to put Villa 3-0 ahead before the break. His two goals underlined his growing influence in Emery’s attack.

Fenerbahce had chances of their own, but Villa goalkeeper Zion Suzuki kept the visitors out with important saves. He denied Vedat Muriqi and was helped by the crossbar when Oguz Aydin threatened from distance. Those missed opportunities left the Turkish side facing a difficult task in the second half.

Barkley Adds Two More After the Break

Villa continued to attack after half-time and increased their advantage in the 68th minute. Manzambi won a penalty after being fouled by Ismail Yuksek, allowing Barkley to send Ederson the wrong way from the spot.

The midfielder struck again four minutes later, finding the net with an effort that deflected on its way past the goalkeeper. His second goal took Villa’s lead to five and left Fenerbahce with little prospect of a comeback.

Abraham then put the finishing touch on the result in the 90th minute. Substitute Alysson created the opportunity before Abraham converted from close range to seal the 6-0 win. The result gave Villa their largest European victory and extended their impressive run of home results in continental competition.

    Champions League Qualification Picture

The victory gave Villa two wins from their opening two Champions League league-phase matches, following their earlier success against Club Brugge. Emery’s team have therefore made a strong start to their European campaign despite a less convincing opening to their domestic season.

Villa are scheduled to face Viking at home next week. Another victory would strengthen their position in the league phase and improve their prospects of progressing to the next round, although qualification will depend on the wider results and final standings.
