  • Safaricom has launched a new unified digital platform called My OneApp.
  • The app brings together M-PESA and MySafaricom services into one system for easier access.
  • Users can now handle money transfers, bill payments, airtime, and more from a single dashboard.
  • New AI tools include receipt scanning, payments and a smarter virtual assistant called Zuri.

Safaricom has introduced a new all-in-one application aimed at simplifying how millions of Kenyans access mobile and financial services.

The platform, known as My OneApp, merges features that were previously split between the MySafaricom app and the M-PESA Super App. This means users can now manage airtime, data bundles, money transfers, bill payments, and even investment services from one place.

The move is part of the company’s wider push to streamline digital services and make everyday transactions faster and more convenient.

With the new system, customers no longer need to switch between different apps to complete simple tasks.

The platform introduces shortcut tools such as “favourites,” which allow users to save frequently used contacts, paybill numbers, and merchants for quick access. This reduces repeated entry of details during transactions and speeds up daily use.

Safaricom says the goal is to make digital payments more seamless and user-friendly, especially for customers who rely heavily on mobile money services.

One of the standout additions is a feature called AI Pay, which allows users to scan receipts and automatically extract payment details like amounts and paybill numbers. The system then guides the user to complete the transaction instantly.

The app also comes with an upgraded version of Zuri, now designed to act as a more advanced conversational assistant.

Unlike earlier versions that relied on structured menus, the new Zuri allows users to type natural questions and receive direct responses, making interactions more flexible and intuitive.

Safaricom is also leaning heavily into artificial intelligence to shape personalised user experiences.

The app is built to learn user habits over time, offering tailored suggestions such as data bundle alerts when usage is low or quick access to commonly used services.

Users will also be able to customise their dashboards and choose how much personal data they share, giving them more control over privacy while still benefiting from smart recommendations.

The launch signals Safaricom’s ambition to deepen its role in Kenya’s digital economy by blending mobile money, communication, and lifestyle services into a single ecosystem.

As more services move online, the company is betting that convenience, speed, and smart automation will define the next phase of mobile experiences in the country.
