Millicent Omanga, a former nominated senator and influential political figure, has given Kenyans a rare peek into her personal life. In a recent Facebook post, she shared a photo of herself walking ahead of her husband, smiling, while clarifying that he is a medical doctor.
“Behind every successful woman kuna mwanaume…na wangu ni Daktari. Sasa DM za ‘uko single?’ na ‘ulifanikiwa aje?’ zipungue kidogo,” Omanga wrote, humorously urging followers to stop questioning her relationship status.
The post quickly drew reactions online, with many fans congratulating her and praising her family. Lucy Tony wrote, “Family is everything. Blessings to you all.”
Omanga’s family life remains in the spotlight partly because of her active political career. She recently defected from President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) to join Vice President Rigathi Gachagua’s Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP).

Her arrival at DCP headquarters was energetic, as she took part in music, song, and dance with supporters. Dressed in party colours, Omanga engaged in what appeared to be a dance challenge with party members, generating buzz both online and offline.
Omanga confirmed her intentions to run for the Nairobi Woman Representative seat in the 2027 elections. She emphasised her commitment to working with grassroots supporters and aligning with the Linda Mwananchi movement, which includes influential politicians such as Edwin Sifuna and Babu Owino.
“Many people have been asking what my plan is for 2027. I will be on the ballot for the Nairobi Woman Representative position. I will be with my people. I hear you, and we are together in this,” she stated on February 6, 2026.
Her announcement sets the stage for a high-stakes contest, with prominent figures like Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu, who recently attended UDA meetings at State House, also eyeing the position.
Omanga’s combination of political ambition and a highly visible personal life continues to attract attention across social media and mainstream news. Observers note that her strategic alignment with popular political movements, along with her charismatic public appearances, could make the Nairobi Woman Representative race one of the most-watched contests in 2027.
