  • Kenya Airways has suspended flights to Dubai and Sharjah after the UAE shut its airspace.
  • The airline cancelled passenger flights KQ310 and KQ305, along with all cargo services on the route.
  • The suspension will continue until further notice due to safety concerns.
  • The disruption is linked to rising tensions between Israel and Iran.
  • Several other countries in the region have also closed their airspace.

Kenya Airways has temporarily stopped all flights to Dubai and Sharjah following the closure of airspace in the United Arab Emirates.

In a travel advisory released on February 28, 2026, the national carrier said the move was necessary to protect passengers and crew. The suspension will remain in place until the situation improves.

The airline confirmed that flight KQ310, KQ305 and all scheduled cargo services on the affected routes have been cancelled.

Kenya Airways apologised to customers for the disruption and said affected travellers will be contacted directly.

The carrier assured passengers that it will offer the required assistance and provide updates as soon as more information becomes available. Travellers have been encouraged to check the airline’s website, mobile app or customer care platforms for the latest flight status.

The travel disruption comes amid rising tensions between Israel and Iran.

On Saturday morning, the United States and Israel carried out missile strikes targeting Iran. Tehran responded with retaliatory attacks, escalating fears across the region.

Iran reportedly targeted Israel and several Gulf states that host US military facilities. These include the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain.

Beyond the UAE, at least eight nations have restricted or closed their airspace due to the conflict. These include Iran, Israel, Iraq, Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait.

The widespread closures have disrupted international travel, forcing airlines to cancel or reroute flights across the Middle East.

For now, Kenya Airways says safety remains its top priority as it closely monitors developments in the region.
