Heavyweight boxer Jarrell Miller produced one of the most talked-about moments of the night after a punch sent his hairpiece flying during a bout at Madison Square Garden.

The unusual scene unfolded during Miller’s fight against Kingsley Ibeh on Saturday night, drawing loud reactions from fans inside the arena.

In the second round, Ibeh landed a quick combination that pushed Miller’s head backwards. One of the shots caused Miller’s hairpiece to lift from the front, exposing a large bald area.

Although the punches did not appear powerful, the moment instantly caught the crowd’s attention and sparked loud cheers.

Miller completed the round with the hairpiece still on his head. However, once he reached his corner, he removed it completely and threw it into the crowd.

The Brooklyn-born fighter then returned to the ring without it and continued the fight without any interruption.

Despite the distraction, Miller stayed focused and went on to win the contest by split decision.

After the final bell, he celebrated by rubbing his head and breaking into a light dance, clearly embracing the moment with humour.

During his interview after the fight, Miller jokingly blamed his hair loss on a shampoo he said he had used while visiting his mother a few days earlier.

The comment added to the light-hearted tone of an already memorable night.

The bout marked Miller’s first appearance at Madison Square Garden. He was part of the undercard of a major event headlined by Teofimo Lopez’s title fight against Shakur Stevenson.

The appearance was symbolic for Miller, who had been set to fight Anthony Joshua at the same venue in 2019 before failing a drug test. Andy Ruiz later replaced him and stunned Joshua in that historic upset.

While Miller secured a hard-fought win, it was the flying hairpiece that ensured the fight would be remembered long after the final scorecards were read.
