American YouTube star and philanthropist Jimmy Donaldson, widely known as MrBeast, has announced that Kenya is one of the countries he plans to visit soon. The revelation was made during a recent online interview with fellow content creator JasonTheWeen.
Speaking on Friday, January 9, 2026, MrBeast opened up about his lifestyle, how he uses his wealth, and why travel plays a big role in his work.
When asked what he enjoys most about being wealthy, the world’s most-followed YouTuber said expensive living is not important to him. Instead, he explained that most of his money is put back into his work.
According to MrBeast, his biggest expenses include building content studios, funding large video projects, and giving money to people in need. He noted that cars, mansions, and other luxury items do not fit into his busy routine.
MrBeast explained that he spends very little time at home due to constant travel. His work takes him across different continents as he plans, films, and manages various projects.
During the interview, he mentioned Kenya among several destinations he intends to visit, alongside Ghana, Dubai, Mexico, and countries in South America.
He added that owning costly property makes little sense to him, saying he rarely stays in one place long enough to enjoy it.
MrBeast said his success allows him to fund humanitarian efforts across the world. He uses his platform to highlight real challenges while providing practical support to communities.
Africa has been a key focus of his outreach, with Kenya benefiting from several initiatives backed by his team over the years.
This will not be MrBeast’s first visit to Kenya. In 2023, he toured parts of the country while working on a large water project across Africa. During that period, he helped build dozens of wells and dams, supported schools with supplies, and funded infrastructure projects.
He later returned in April 2025, focusing on Narok County, where his team supported school feeding programmes, provided desks, drilled boreholes, and backed local farming efforts.
MrBeast’s announcement comes at a time when Kenya is already in the global spotlight due to American streamer IShowSpeed’s Africa tour. Speed recently caused excitement online after livestreaming his visit.
President William Ruto also welcomed Speed through a video message, describing Kenya as a home for visitors and promoting the country’s tourism appeal.
IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., is currently on a 28-day tour across 20 African countries under the banner “Speed Does Africa.” He is the most-watched English-speaking livestreamer globally.
The YouTube star has more than 48 million subscribers and holds the record for the highest live viewership by an English-speaking streamer.
Speed began streaming in 2020 while still a teenager in Cincinnati, Ohio. His loud, energetic style and unpredictable reactions quickly attracted viewers.
By 2023, he had taken his content worldwide, recording viral livestreams across Asia, Europe, and South America, before shifting his focus to Africa.
Before his YouTube rise, Speed streamed on Twitch but was banned in 2021. He was later reinstated after strong support from fellow creators and direct appeals to Twitch leadership.
He now ranks among the top global streamers, alongside Kai Cenat, Ninja, and popular Spanish creators such as Ibai Llanos and Rubius.
Known for his high-energy persona, Speed often shows off his athletic side. He once raced Olympic champion Noah Lyles and narrowly lost.
In a 2024 interview, he claimed he could compete at the 2028 Olympics if given enough training time.
Speed is also a passionate supporter of football star Cristiano Ronaldo. He has Ronaldo’s image tattooed on his arm and regularly performs the famous “Siuuu” celebration during his streams.
So far, Speed has visited South Africa, Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, and Kenya. His remaining stops include Nigeria, Egypt, Morocco, Ghana, Senegal, and several other African nations.
