  • Registration for aspirants opens on December 4 and closes on December 23, 2025.
  • Campaigns run until January 10, when the elections will be held.

The United Democratic Alliance has announced that it will roll out grassroots elections in the 20 counties where the exercise has not been completed.
NEB Chair Anthony Mwaura said the decision was made after a joint meeting between the National Executive Committee and the National Elections Board, chaired by Deputy Party Leader Kithure Kindiki.

According to Mwaura, the first phase will involve the registration of aspirants seeking positions in the party structures.
He said the application portal opens on December 4, 2025, at midday and closes on December 23, 2025, at 5:00 pm.

Once applications close, candidates will enter a formal campaign period.
The campaigns will continue until January 10, 2026, which is also the date set for the internal polls.

The grassroots elections will be conducted in the following counties: Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Nyandarua, Bomet, Samburu, Nyeri, Elgeyo Marakwet, Embu and Tharaka Nithi.
Others include Kericho, Kiambu, Kirinyaga, Kakamega, Nakuru, Laikipia, Vihiga, Nandi, Meru, Trans Nzoia and Murang’a.

“It was resolved that the party conduct grassroots elections in the remaining twenty counties where polls have not been held.”
