Popular televangelist Pastor Ezekiel Odero on Sunday encouraged Christians to embrace sacrificial giving as taught in the Bible. Speaking at New Life Prayer Centre and Church in Mavueni, Kilifi County, he told thousands of worshippers that giving in faith remains an important part of Christian practice.

During the service, Pastor Ezekiel said many believers choose to give only when they have extra, yet biblical examples show people who gave out of little.

Pastor Ezekiel told the gathering that believers should trust God to provide even during difficult times. He compared the teaching to the story of the widow’s mite, saying the power of giving lies in the heart and level of faith.

“The widow’s mite was powerful because she gave all she had. Giving with faith moves the hand of God,” he said.

Church ushers circulated multiple offering baskets as worshippers gave through mobile money, envelopes, and other contributions. The preacher also encouraged the congregation to sow “seeds of faith” as part of their spiritual practice.

Several members shared testimonies of what they described as financial breakthroughs after previous offerings. One woman from Kaloleni said she gave KSh1,200 during a midweek service and later received KSh150,000 from a relative abroad. The church did not independently verify the testimonies, but they were met with applause from the congregants.

The message comes ahead of the “December to Remember” annual miracle crusade scheduled for December 26. Church officials said online bookings have already exceeded expectations as worshippers prepare for the 10-day event.

A local MCA welcomed the church’s emphasis on generosity, saying New Life members often support community fundraisers for school fees and medical needs.

The service ended with prayers, worship, and blessings from the pastor, who said 2026 would be a year of “overflow” for those who gave in faith. Hundreds moved to the altar for prayers as the service concluded.
