Leeds United relieved pressure on head coach Daniel Farke after a strong 3–1 win over Chelsea at Elland Road.
Leeds came into the match on a four-game losing run, but they played with energy from the first whistle.
Jaka Bijol opened the scoring in the sixth minute with a powerful header from Anton Stach’s corner. Leeds almost doubled the lead soon after when Pascal Struijk went close.
Chelsea looked flat and slow in possession.
Their mistakes continued, and Leeds punished them again just before the break.
Ao Tanaka fired a low shot from distance after Chelsea lost the ball cheaply, giving Leeds a 2–0 lead at halftime.
Chelsea brought on Pedro Neto for more creativity.
The move worked briefly. Neto scored early in the second half with a volley at the back post. Cole Palmer also returned from injury and almost equalised, curling a shot inches wide.
But their comeback ended with another defensive mistake.
With 18 minutes left, Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo hesitated inside the box.
Noah Okafor pressed him, leading to a mix-up that left the ball open for Dominic Calvert-Lewin to tap in the third goal.
The goal killed Chelsea’s hope of turning the match around.
