- Endrick has joined Lyon on loan from Real Madrid
- The 19-year-old will report to Lyon’s squad from 29 December
- The move comes months before the 2026 World Cup
- He joined Real Madrid in 2024 for 47.5 million euros
- Limited game time under Xabi Alonso prompted the loan
Brazilian wonderkid Endrick has completed a loan switch from Real Madrid to Olympique Lyon, with the French Ligue 1 side confirming the deal on Tuesday.
In a brief statement, Lyon said the 19-year-old forward will officially link up with the senior squad from 29 December, marking a new chapter in his fast-rising career.
The move comes at a crucial time for Endrick, just months before the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off. With Brazil boss Carlo Ancelotti expected to closely monitor player form, regular game time could prove vital for the teenage attacker.
At Lyon, Endrick is expected to get more minutes on the pitch after finding opportunities limited in Spain this season.
Endrick’s journey began early. He broke into the Palmeiras first team at just 16, quickly becoming one of Brazil’s most talked-about talents.
He played an important role as the São Paulo-based club lifted back-to-back Brazilian league titles in 2022 and 2023, earning admiration both locally and abroad.
After turning 18 in July 2024, Endrick sealed a high-profile move to Real Madrid, with the deal reportedly valued at 47.5 million euros.
Since then, he has managed seven goals in 40 appearances across all competitions, but consistent starts have been hard to come by under new head coach Xabi Alonso.
The left-footed attacker joins Lyon on a paid loan until the end of the season. Reports indicate the agreement includes a fee of up to one million euros, depending on performance-related conditions.
Lyon will be hoping Endrick’s pace, movement, and eye for goal can boost their attacking options in the second half of the campaign.
