Popular digital creator Raymond Kahuma has revealed that he lost KSh 1.1 million after his ambitious plan to cook the world’s largest chapati went terribly wrong. Hoping to break a Guinness World Record, Kahuma set up the entire project in Kenya, where preparations took several days.
To achieve the 150kg chapati, Raymond rented land, hired construction workers for a day, and oversaw the building of a special structure large enough to handle the giant dough. He also brought in a team of experienced chapati chefs from Kenya.

The investment included: Renting space for the project, paying construction workers, buying huge quantities of chapati flour, hiring professional chefs, and setting up cooking equipment and documentation
Raymond filmed the entire journey for his followers.
Despite the careful planning, one critical step was underestimated: flipping the chapati.
When the team attempted to turn the giant chapati over the heat, the weight proved too much. The chapati began breaking into pieces, making it impossible to maintain its size and structure.
This simple but crucial failure marked the end of Kahuma’s dream to break the record.
Although the attempt failed, Raymond said the experience taught him valuable lessons about planning and execution. His followers praised him for his courage and creativity, even as he counted the financial loss.
The failed world record attempt remains one of the biggest and most expensive challenges he has ever documented.
