Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has condemned the actions of some TikTok content creators, calling for the immediate arrest of those involved in a video that went viral online.

The video shows two young men attempting to engage a female pedestrian in what appeared to be a prank, despite her clear refusal to participate. Their persistence sparked widespread outrage on social media.

“I have come across several videos of young men sexually harassing girls in the name of content. Shockingly, such acts are being viewed as entertainment,” Passaris said.

Passaris highlighted the psychological impact on victims, questioning the safety and dignity of girls who endure such ordeals. She criticised bystanders who fail to protect victims, describing the behaviour as “diabolical.”

“I cannot begin to imagine the trauma a girl goes through in such an ordeal, surrounded by boys who, instead of protecting or defending her dignity, stand aside and entertain this abomination. What then happens if she tries to defend herself?” she added.

The lawmaker has called on the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to identify and apprehend the suspects. She emphasised that such acts, even under the guise of content creation, should not go unpunished.

“I am calling on the @DCI_Kenya to apprehend these boys immediately. Let this serve as a warning to anyone who assaults another person, especially under the guise of content creation. Enough is enough,” Passaris stated.
